Leave the tourist trail behind and dive into the raw, creative heart of Tel Aviv. This tour weaves through the aromatic Levinsky Market, where Persian, Turkish, Greek flavors and more have been perfected over generations, and into Florentine, the city’s edgy, artistic soul where every wall tells a story through vibrant graffiti.
The spice market
Wander among spice stalls and family-run eateries, tasting hidden gems from Persian stews to Turkish borekas and Greek-inspired pastries. Many of these shops were opened by the families who still run them, and the recipes have not moved much since.
Florentine
Then explore Florentine’s ever-changing street art, from massive murals to secret stencil works, and discover how this working-class neighborhood became Israel’s hipster capital.
Along the way you’ll meet local characters, hear stories of immigration and reinvention, and sample the multicultural bites that make this area a foodie’s paradise.
Practical notes
About three hours on foot, at an easy pace: through the Levinsky spice market and into Florentine.
Come hungry. The tastings add up to a meal rather than a snack.
Shabbos closes the street from Friday afternoon until Saturday night, so the tour runs Sunday to Friday. Friday morning is the busiest and the best.
Tell Yona about allergies and dietary needs when you book. The stops are chosen around them.
